A vertically integrated group
SFAR holds a strategic position in Europe for fabrication of very heavy mechanical parts ( up to 360 tons in one piece), either in small batches or as single parts. CIVAD, its sister company, is in full command of all the methods of heavy steel fabrication and mechanised welding of complex assemblies.

Creusot Forge which has great synergy with SFAR and CIVAD, is specialised in the production of very large forged parts for projects in the energy, steel-making, petrochemical and marine industries. In addition to the forge, Creusot Forge also has a foundry.
Creusot Mecanique, the machine shop capable of dealing with the very largest pieces is the natural next stage for finishing the large parts produced by the foundry or forge.
Kaplan Hub with 5 blades
Significant investisments have been launched already, among them the new 250T ingot that will allow production of parts with weights exceeding 160T .
This facility constitutes a unique entity in France with 100M€ Turnover, 400 employees and over 85.000 m² of buildings, completely integrated.
Research & Development
SFARSTEEL
is investing in new techniques of welding, is working in partnership with the steel shop to create new types of ingots (grades, dimensions), and is carrying out systematic value analysis for the businesses passing through the engineering office.
Several partnership agreements exist with recognised research centers; our very close links with CRMC ( Creusot Material Research Center) gives us a competitive technological edge.

Quality management
SFARSTEEL holds all the approvals and certifications necessary to deliver to very demanding markets such as the nuclear power or the offshore industries : ISO,ASME,TUV ...
For products from the forge, all the standard mechanical tests are carried out in the test shop, while the special tests ( corrosion, impact testing, welding) are performed by the research center (CRMC).
